At Quadient, we are at the forefront of Intelligent Communication Automation (ICA), driving innovation in software solutions that cater to a variety of applications, including Customer Experience Management (CXM), Intelligent Document Automation (IDA), and Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable (AP & AR). We are looking for a passionate and skilled ICA Patent Engineer to ensure our groundbreaking ideas are protected and we maintain our competitive edge.

Your Role in Our Future

As our ICA Patent Engineer, you will play a critical role in our intellectual property strategy. You will lead the patent generation and risk management processes, working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to capture and develop innovative ideas into patents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing prior art reviews and conducting risk analyses on ICA projects.

  • Stimulating creativity through training, workshops, and brainstorming sessions.

  • Detecting patent opportunities and supporting inventors throughout the filing process.

  • Drafting and managing new patent applications.

  • Contributing to the definition of ICA IP strategy and managing the IP budget.

  • Overseeing the ICA patent portfolio in collaboration with external patent counsels.

  • Monitoring competition patents and technical trends to identify potential infringements.

  • Assisting the Legal Department with IP-related litigations and queries.

Your Profile

  • Strong technical background; an LLM with a specialization in Intellectual Property is ideal.

  • Knowledge of European and US patent laws; Patent Agent certification is desirable.

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Patent Attorney in an IP Law Firm or Software Company.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and patent analysis tools (e.g., Orbit, PatBase).

  • Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical, with the ability to document concepts and ideas effectively.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, negotiation, and planning skills.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
